Tracy Reese
Fashion Designer
CT alumna Tracy Reese is in touch with her feminine side. The creator of the ultra-feminine and vintage-inspired Tracy Reese look began her fashion career by earning an accelerated degree from Parsons School of Design in 1984. She then joined a contemporary sportswear firm in Paris as an assistant to designer Martine Sitbon, and produced her own contemporary collection for two years before moving to Perry Ellis. Reese's flirty style is key in the look of her collections— during seasons where miniskirts are inescapable, she hems her skirts at a more wearable length. Why? "Because I want to wear [them] too, and I have chubby knees." Her romantic designs have been featured on Oprah, and worn by the likes of Oscar-winner Mira Sorvino and newcomer Carla Gallo.

"People don't dress up as much as they used to because it's intimidating," Reese explains. "My constant challenge is to design clothes that look fabulous but aren't encumbering. Our lives are busy and we've got a lot to accomplish in a day. Women don't want to wear something that's going to hold them back in any way."
