Kenya Summer Moore
Miss USA 1993

If Cass Technical High School was proud in 1990 when Carole Gist became the first African American Miss USA in history, then that pride must have been doubled three years later when Kenya Summer Moore became the second alumnae to wear the crown of the nation's most beautiful woman.

Just like Carole Gist, Kenya Moore displayed poise and intelligence at the Miss Universe Pageant held in Mexico that year. Although Kenya didn't win that coveted title, she parlayed her tenure as beauty queen into a successful acting and modeling career. Her acting credits include "The Parenthood", "Martin" and "Waiting to Exhale", just to name a few. She has also appeared in several commercials and has her own calendar. All Kenya has to do is keep flashing that trademark smile and the sky is the limit.
