John DeLorean

John DeLorean was just as infamous as he was famous, but his pure genius as a car designer places him in the Cass Tech Hall of Fame. After working for GM, he started his own company in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Upon falling on hard times, he reportedly attempted to save the company through illegal transactions such as money laundering and drug trafficking, (the latter has been disputed). Whatever the activities were, DeLorean ended upserving some jail time.
Regardless of whatever wrongdoings that may be attributable to him, no one can deny that DeLorean changed the auto world with his brilliant creations including his namesake, the DeLorean. He spent his golden years in New Jersey and was still an active businessman in his seventies. DeLorean passed away on March 19, 2005 after suffering a stroke.
